Dr. Iván Cortés Fernández

Postdoctoral researcher

Biologist (2013-2017), with an Msc in Biotechnology Applied to the Environment (2018) and Doctor in Biology of Plants by the University of the Balearic Islands (2022). I have focused my research on ecological data analysis in a variety of areas, including plant biology, habitat ecology, pollination, germination and endangered animal species demography.

I have worked as Superior technician in Palma de Mallorca City Council, in TRAGSATEC in Habitat Cartography and in the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) as postdoctoral researcher. I am currently working in the CEBAS as postdoctoral researcher evaluating management solutions in the Mar Menor – Campo de Cartagena Socioecological System and in web-development. I am also Associate Professor of Field Basic Operations in the Biology Degree (UIB) and in Advanced Techniques of field monitoring in the Msc of Biotechnology Applied to the Environment (UIB).

I have also worked in some entrepreneurship projects, being CountryofPapers the most relevant. It is a scientific journal database that enables researchers to find and compare journals where to publish much easier. It has helped more than 300.000 researchers in the last 5 years.
